So Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt Mohamed Morsy just sacked the leaders of the military junta General Hussein Tantawi and the Egyptian Army's' Chief of Staff General Sami Enan.
Morsy has also cancelled the constitutional protections that the Egyptian military has enjoyed and overturned their edicts circumscribing his control over foreign and military policy.
That is, as the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has declared, today Morsy completed the Egyptian revolution. Egypt is now an Islamic state. Its leaders drink from the same well as al Qaida, Hamas and all the rest. Egypt, with its US armed military has reemerged after 30 years as the greatest military threat that Israel has ever faced.
According the the Israel media, the IDF was surprised by Morsy's move. Clearly our esteemed generals believed reassurances they received from their Egyptian military counterparts that Israel had no reason to be concerned with the election of Hamas's big brother to Egypt's presidency.
This reminds me of what former chief of the IDF's General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said at the Jerusalem Post's conference in New York on April 29. In his remarks Ashkenazi said that no one in the IDF foresaw Mubarak's overthrow during the anti-regime protests in Tahrir Square. I began my remarks by mentioning that I had foreseen his overthrow and replacement by the Muslim Brotherhood already back in 2004. And like me, everyone paying attention to the internal make-up of Egyptian society -- rather than to the empty promises of generals with no popular support -- recognized that Israel's peace with Egypt was not long for this world.
Here's the part of the conference where he and I speak.
His remarks start at 23 minutes. Mine start at 41 minutes.
I am not saying this to rub Ashkenazi's nose in his massive errors. I mention it because the same general staff that failed to foresee what was going to happen in Egypt, and fails to this day to understand the strategic implications of the Muslim Brotherhood takeover for the IDF, is the IDF that insists today that Israel can trust Obama to take care of Iran for us.
Sadly, perhaps even devastatingly, it is not possible for Netanyahu and Barak to pull a Morsy and fire the General Staff en masse. All of these leftist strategic failures enjoy the unstinting support of the leftist media. But still, their failure to understand Egypt speaks all the more strongly for the full justification and necessity of Barak and Netanyahu's current media campaign to force the IDF to fall in line on attacking Iran.

The ongoing *NNP takeover of Egypt reminds me of another time no so long ago when a few 'out there' voices were warning about the storm clouds gathering over Europe not long after the rise of another Morsi with a moustache.
The all wise, leading elite, the experts and the full of crap as always media and the soon to be dead majority urged calm and berated those who warned about what was coming.
The soon to be led to slaughter listened to these wise experts much like Israel has listened to the US and their many decades of failure driven agenda.
Same story different day only this time the Fourth Reich is headquartered in Washington.
When it comes to stupid,Israel wins the prize.
The Muslim Brotherhood is nothing more than the Arab version of the *New Nazi Party.
Morsi is just following the Obama dictator protocol,it's worked well for Hussein O.
Why not go for broke before naive Israel wakes up and smells the rocket fuel and VX gas.
The CFR Globalists and their corn dog on a stick Obama are grinning ear to ear today.
You won't hear a peep from the Caliphate Corporation of America located in the White House on this today, maybe tomorrow, maybe not.
Morsi sees how the worthless Republicans let the destroyer Obama get away with everything including murder and knows the paper tiger empire will keep sending him the checks no matter what he does.
Heck, they created him,he was 'schooled' in the good old USA !

Olmert had the nerve to chime in on Iran today.
Here is a lap dog of foreign interests PM Olmert who failed to defeat Hezbollah in 2006 because President Bush told him to retreat the IDF before they crossed the Litani. He is the one responsible for emboldening Iran by his policy of Israeli retreat and weakness and he has the nerve to open his mouth.
Prison would be too good for this cretin.
I'm not given to conspiracies, but it's hard not to wonder if the entire thing was not orchestrated.
By orchestrated, I mean beginning with the attack on Egyptian soldiers.
Things happened a little too neatly and little too quickly.
Conspiracy or not, in the course of a few days, the Muslim Brotherhood is in now in full control of Egypt and Egyptian war planes and tanks are in the Sinai.
Morsy is no fool. He doesn't want to start a war now. What he clearly DOES want to do is take advantage of the fact that our own leaders here in Israel are too feckless to stop Egypt from (re)militarizing the Sinai.
He will get out of the Camp David "treaty" without having to get out of the treaty. And the US, EU, and our media will support him.
For several years, I have predicted the negative influence that this administration would have on Israel. I should be running the IDF...
The movement to the border by the Egyptian A60 is a prelude to a common attack. Don't overlook this fact. The MB is not going to stand by and wait for the outcome of the US elections. They will move on Israel before the election. As most observers believe, no one in the US will want to switch horses in the middle of a crisis such as the ME war. Get ready.
The peace treaty between Israel and Egypt has been a tenuous one at best. With the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood there is no reason to believe it will last much longer. One of Egypt's main concerns now is Palestinian infiltration into the Sinai, but Israel's safety does not enter into the equation. Thank you Caroline for putting the issues into their proper perspectives. Anyone following your post is well aware that you have always been on target. As for Gabi Ashkenazi, he would have done himself a bigger favor by cutting his remarks down to the bare minimum or better yet not have spoken at all.
Just the other day the IDF brass were (rightly) sneering at Washington's revised Iran assessment, saying "Well you guys didn't see 9/11 coming." Now Arutz Sheva reports "Israel surprised by the Egyptian President's decision to sack the leadership of the country's defense establishment."
Honestly Caroline, sometimes I wonder how these people keep their jobs.
Morsi has completely taken over all of the Egyptian military as well as the government at large.
He is appointing his own military chiefs.
This is now a complete takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood Morsi represents.
There are a number of Egyptian troops in the Sinai Penisula. Will Morsi order these troops to stay ostensibly to continue fight terrorism or will they be withdrawn as treaty provisions demand?
Israel now in all probability will face a hostile Egypt very soon.
If fighting breaks out in the Sinai Israel will once again have to face an enemy on it's nortern front; ie Hezbollah. And maybe even an attack on it's flank from Hamas in Gaza.
I submit to you that Ehud Olmert should be put on trial for malfeasance for not destroying Hezbollah and Hamas in 2006 and 2009 respectfully when he had the chance during those wars.
Now Israel will have to facr them again when they are stronger.
"the IDF was surprised by Morsy's move" - Henry Kissinger was surprised by the collapse of the Soviet Union. The brave French generals were surprised by the Wehrmacht's momentary takeover of France. Neville Chamberlain was suprised by Hitler's untrustworthiness. All of them said nobody had expected that sort of turn of events. This was a self-serving lie: there had been plenty of people - ignored, shut up, ridiculed - who had predicted everything.
I'm thinking about how Israel itself fanned the flames and inspired the mad mullahs in Iran to go for the final kill and now the MB in Egypt.
This final putsch is orchestrated.
By allowing themselves to always be restrained under the foul thumb of America and their fake peace Road Map agenda,Israel failed to defeat Hezbollah in 2006 and Hamas in 2009.
What little deterrence Israel had in the bank was withdrawn the day Israel signed onto the counterfeit peace scam on the White House lawn in 1993.
The suckers exchanged deterrence for a leash and collar that has kept Israel's enemies secure and ISRAEL restrained ever since.
The lap dogs in Jerusalem just can't say no to Washington.
This incredible stupidity of being subservient to US agenda and not Israel's security needs first and foremost has laid the groundwork for the coming catastrophe that cannot be avoided.
The old saying;'You made your bed now lie in it' comes to mind.
Israel WILL pay the steep price for the sin of idolatry, ignoring God and chasing after the US as if they were God.
He made it clear to stubborn Israel not to make any peace agreements with the trouble making neighbors but Israel decided to listen to their lying idol's on the Potomac instead.
Exodus 23
"You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
December 2011
There is coming an all out war in the Middle East as the neighboring Arab nations will come against Israel with a sudden missile attack starting from the north with Hezbollah, Lebanon, and Syria. Other Arab nations will join. Israel will be hit from all sides at once and there will be deaths and partial destruction of settlements, smaller cities to the north, and some damage to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well. Israel will respond with great force, and limited nuclear weapons will release devastation upon the neighboring countries, particularly Lebanon, Damascus, which will be destroyed completely, and the rest of Syria as well as military strikes into Iran, Gaza, and even northern Egypt/Sinai region.

This brings to mind once again how history seems to repeat itself when one considers the destruction of the temple and Jewish people by Antiochus Epiphanes who wanted to force his will on the Jews. That Seleucid Empire appears as a parallel view of the EU today. The Maccabees had foresight and clear vision and took a stand against this abomination. However, history tells us that the left leaning appeasers among the Jews caused the eventual collapse of the Jewish nation. What if anything is different today?
Isn't it odd that Egypt should suddenly be in conflict with Hamas, the natural ally of the MB? Do you think the whole thing has been staged as a pretext to gain Israeli acquiescence to a large Egyptian military presence in the Sinai, allowing them to then attack with little warning at a time of their choosing?
God save Israel & the US from it's Muslim monsters; at least Israel doesn't have one for its president like the US does, no matter his usual lies about being a "christian" like he lies about and hides everything, like his real vs his forged birth certificate and his records to keep people from finding out what kind of a monster he really is, like Romney has done, both members of dangerous cults laughing at the world like Hitler did and as successfully for people are historically proven to be gullible fools! God save us!
The pace quickens.. The MB is moving much quicker in Egypt then they did in Turkey...Like David above, I believe that the incidents of "radicals" attacking Egyptian Soldiers in the Sinai were orchestrated to provide a pretext to remilitarize the Sinai....They've no intention of vacating Sinai.......until they head EAST across the Isreali border.....
Caroline...You blew the other speakers away...because you speak with passion, conviction, and knowledge! You're a smart cookie and you've got baytzim, which is in short supply among the Israeli leadership, in gov't and in the Army. Any chance you might speak at an AIPAC conference (or are you too scary for American Jews, who prefer Israel "lite")? Keep up the fight!
Don't be surprised to find out that having remilitarized the Sinai under cover of anti-terrorism, Morsy refuses to demilitarize the Sinai.
