So are these Salafists or Muslim Brotherhood members?
I don't mean to be rude or anything but do Western policy analysts think we are stupid?
Reuel Marc Gerecht, who usually writes intelligently on the issue of jihad wrote a stunningly ridiculous article in the Wall Street Journal today in which he says true, the so-called Arab Spring has brought radical Islamic regimes to power. But there's no reason to get all bent out of shape about it. It's just part of a natural process that may one day lead to liberal values being adopted in the Arab world. True, the Arabs won't be allies of the West, but we need to just understand them.
It might be possible to greet all of this with tolerant understanding and patience if the Arabs lived on a different planet. Then they could have their experience with totalitarian Muslim fanatics at the helm of their societies without their embrace of madness and hatred affecting anyone else. But of course, that is not the case, as the video from Australia makes clear.
Gerecht writes for instance,
As is already happening in Egypt, we will see debates revolving around issues that will turn Western stomachs--such as the exclusion of Christians and women from official positions, and the permissibility of clitoridectomy and childhood brides. Though the outcomes may be distressing, this is not surprising.
In fact, he says, it should give us hope because it means that they are engaging in democratic discourse involving the issues they care about. And the very exercise of debate raises the prospect that voices of reason, moderation, humaneness and etc will eventually win the day by the force of their ideas and morality.
As he put it, "But democracy, even if vastly more limited than current Western practice, always introduces a jousting ethic into politics."
Obviously, this is possibility that exists - among others. But the physical and moral devastation these fanatics at the helm can cause in the generation or so that will have to pass before their Arab subjects recognize that they have gotten it wrong is not something we can afford to be indifferent to. It's something we have to fight, with every fiber of our being.
The good news is that even as the Obama administration embraces the Muslim Brotherhood, lots of people throughout the world are fighting hard. For instance I am proud to say that my friends and colleagues in America are doing amazing things to fight back and defend all that is right about this world. Here are just a few examples.
Today The Center for Security Policy is launching a new website called muslimbrotherhoodinamerica.com. The website presents a ten-part course about the Muslim Brotherhood in America, its penetration of the US government, the conservative movement, the Republican Party, and its influence over the Obama administration. The course is taught by Frank Gaffney, the President of the Center for Security Policy.

The David Horowitz Freedom Center is hosting a townhall discussion of the Muslim Brotherhood in Los Angeles on May 1.
Pamela Geller from Atlas Shrugs blog has organized the Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference that will be held on April 29 in Dearborn, MI. Mokdad was the victim of an honor killing. The conference will explore honor killings and Islamic law in America.
I urge you to support and participate in these valiant efforts.

No, Caroline. It isn't that western policy analysts think we are stupid. It is just that they have been so taken in by a charismatic man named Obama as well as being reassured by European leaders that this is just a passing phase that they have begun to believe the hype. Europe has been almost completely islamized and radical Muslims have made strong inroads into many areas of the United States. Most distressing and frightening is the fact that we can't wait. If we don't do enough now to combat this irrationality on the part of our leaders, we stand to lose our precious freedoms and then there will be nothing left.

Just change "progress" to two state solution and it's evident how the majority of modern day Israel has been Hellenized away from the God of Israel's agenda for Israel to another agenda.
Very few souls in Israel has not been poisoned by an evil ungodly influence.
The government,media,military and majority of the people have all fallen under the evil spell.
The Mel and the Macabees saga should cause the average Jew to think of how Hellenized he has become under the modern day replacement Empire.
At least the Jews during the Greek 'pacification'of Israel had a Temple,todays Jews bowed to their destroyers and surrendered the Temple Mount to them long ago under the 2 state agenda of their Greek gods in Washington(whose government buildings interestingly copy the same Greek design.
Todays Hellenized Jews who rule under the watchful eye of their Washington flavored Greek masters drive fellow Jews off their land and destroy their homes (while Hamas and the Muslim threat grows)all to please these Greek gods they serve and obey with religious zeal and devotion.
Why just last week the Hellenist Jew Defense Minister Ehud the lap dog Barak flew across the globe to attend his Greek Temple and get his latest orders to break the spirit and will of the few remaining Macabbes remaing in Israel who are obedient to God to build up Zion and rebel against the evil agenda of surrendering the land to those intent on wiping out Israel(the pagan Arab Muslims who worship the moon god allah).
So in reality things are much worse today with the army of Israel(IDF) making war against fellow Jews to please their Greek gods on the Potomac and the Hellenized Jews go along except for a few who are abused,broken,oppressed and destroyed by the Hellenized state of Israel.
Today the Macabee's would be in an Israeli prison or worse.

No, they don't think that we are stupid. It's worse than that. They are so blinded by their western prejudices that they themselves have gone stupid.
Freedom, democracy and human rights are NOT universal values. They DO NOT naturally arise out of any and all systems where some form of limited dissent and consultative decisionmaking are permitted. In order to arrvie at Western democratic values via evolution, one must start with Western culture.
The Arabs are not Anglo-Saxon Westerners. Therefore, they can never arrive at Anglo-Saxon Western values by evolution. As with the Germans, the Russians, the Japanese and the Koreans, these values must be brought from without and forcibly implanted in the culture at bayonet point, the only operative question remaining being whether said bayonets are wielded by foreign conquerors or domestic westernizers.
As the stunning failures of both in the previous two centuries attest, the Islamic world will not change as long as no effort is made to eradicate Islam from it, root and branch.
It's cognitive dissonance. The dissonance between the fact of the Muslim Brotherhood's extremism and the belief in a liberating Arab Spring sees these contortions and denials from those who gave their support to the latter. If they were to admit to the truth of the Muslim Brotherhood's fanaticism, they would have to admit to the fact that they have given their support - no matter how inadvertent - to the empowerment of Muslim extremists in Egypt. They couldn't admit that to themselves, the psychological shock would be too much, so they engage in the most loopy rationalizations to keep their delusions going.
Now a Muslim extremist ruled Egypt is remilitarizing the Sinai..
What this guy is really saying is that Arab women are expendable. OK, so they'll get stoned/raped/clitorectomies/honor-killed. But it's all part of the Democratic process, and isn't anything to get excited about - not even worth more than a few lines saying that they're not worth getting excited about. And so are all the minorities in Egypt: Copts, gays, Christians, women. Everybody but Muslim heterosexual males.
You just have to give the Muslims what they want, and then they'll be happy and we'll all just get along just fine, even if we think differently. Sure, right now they want to kill everyone and rule the world, but they'll give that all up.
I kinda recall the same things being said when some guy with the same ("kill everyone not identical to me and I want the whole planet" campaign slogans) wanted Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. I'm agnostic, but jeez - do we really have to forget our history before it's even been a century old? There's plenty of people still alive who went through that crap.
My personal thought: Israel should help all the Copts do an Exodus to Israel. It will save millions (literally), it will give Israel a much larger population (and lets face it, the Egyptians *are* coming - as a Muslim country, they can't /not/ attack Israel again, or else they will be guilty of failing to follow primary commandment of Islam). And Israel's gonna need that large population for the army. It's both humanitarian and strategically wise for both Israel and US. As a US taxpayer, that's something I'd be willing to put money into.
