I just read the horrible news that Andrew Breitbart has died. I send from Jerusalem my heartfelt condolences to his widow and children.
I watched Andrew's speech at CPAC on YouTube and have to admit that I thought he didn't look well. He had put on some extra weight and to my eye seemed a bit short of breath. After watching, I found myself concerned that he may have a heart problem.
And I was concerned. Because Andrew was the sort of person we can't afford to lose. He was an unapologetic political warrior. He was a conservative, American patriot and friend of liberty everywhere. He was also a big friend of Israel.
I met Andrew two or three times over the years and each meeting was a pleasure. His no nonsense, "let's get straight to business," attitude was a breath of fresh air in a world where we are more judged by how polite we are than what we actually do. He knew who I am and I knew who he was and so each of our conversations went immediately to the point, whatever it was.
Andrew understood the truth that eludes so many conservatives in the US and Israel. That truth -- that if you want to win in politics you have to be good to your friends and bad to your enemies -- is what motivated his every move. He understood that right wingers never win any points for their side by trying to ingratiate themselves with the Left. The Left believes its job is to defeat and destroy the Right and will pocket any concessions the Right makes and use them as a means to divide and conquer their enemies.
In Israel and America alike, the reason the Left wins even when it loses is because so many powerful forces on the Right are afraid to stand up for what they believe. They justify their meekness by claiming that the public won't support them if they are unabashed about who they are and what they stand for, often citing focus groups and polling data to back up their claim.
But just as in business the only way to get people to buy your product is to sell it, so in politics, if you don't seek to convince people that your views are correct, then you'll never convince the public that your views are correct. If you surrender the battlefield of ideas to the Left because you're afraid the Left won't like you if you say you disagree, then obviously, they will continue to win the war of ideas.
This was the insight that guided Andrew's work. It was also the key to his success. As it turns out, there is a huge market for conservative ideas. Indeed, as the 2010 midterms showed, most Americans are willing to support them. And as most elections in Israel show, the majority of Israelis consistently support them.
I can't believe that Andrew is no longer with us. His death is a huge loss to the conservative movement in the US and to his fellow intellectual warriors throughout the free world. I hope and trust however that his energy, courage and success will live on through the thousands and thousands of people who were empowered by his work.

Has anyone noticed ?
There are many premature,untimely deaths happening lately,a portend of things to come.
Unlike so many, he took his work seriously and the reality of the grim situation stressed his heart and took a toll on his health.
As a person who hated to compromise and who saw the compromising right and the infighting within the ranks,their weakness and dead silence towards the dictatorial moves of Obama, the RINO presidential field with the pantywaist Romney lined up against the destroyer Obama that was enough to make him sick unto death.
When my radio awoke me this morning the first thing I heard was the announcement of Andrew's passing. What a shock. I was present at his first tea party event in Santa Ana, CA. His aggressive challenge of progressive liberalism was so needed and he will be missed. He fought the good fight. My sincere condolences to his family.
It's difficult to believe this is true...
Caroline. A beautiful tribute for a most outstanding individual. Andrew Breitbart epitomized the integrity and support that Israel and the free world can ill afford to lose. He will surely be missed.
just awoke to the news on drudge. reading matt's opening ode to andrew, i was fearing what was to come... rare that i physically gasp, but such was the shock. i greatly admired him, and it affirms my sense of him to find caroline did as well. concerning the left's penchant for deception, ann coulter remarked that conservatives are oft left conceding to a multitude of leftist lies as to focus on those "of holocaust-denial proportion." i've found that to be so w/ pretty much every conservative figure, saving andrew. he understood that there is no lie, no wrong so seemingly small as to leave unaddressed. 'a small injustice is an injustice' could have been his work's credo. he was honest, passionate, bright and brave. a rarity of a man. a tragic loss. andrew breitbart z"l.
Amen. Thank you Caroline for the eloquent reminder to use his life as an example for us all. May good continue to come from his life for ages to come.
Thank you, Caroline. I am both shaken by Andrew's death and also strengthened to pick up his banner and carry on the fight.
He was a good man who fought for truth and freedom and individual liberties. He was an enemy of evil and confronted it face to face and he did so knowing that he was right and knowing what he was actually looking in the eyes. His loss is very great and very untimely.
I do hope that this was simply a natural and unavoidable death. I also know our enemies quite well enough that suspicion cannot help but be a concern. 43 is very young indeed and I do remember other deaths, that were a convenience to others in the recent past. The evil that was involved therein, has very long tentacles and always has.
I do hope you realize that your security as an effective presenter of truth and facts, is important to the world and to those truths and facts. Try not to under estimate this condition because you my dear, are very much on the wrong side of this for all the right and righteous reasons.

I've loved Andrew fom the first time I saw him, and heard him,never met him...just a regular american,but his death has brought me to tears.He was so right,he fought so hard to do and say what is right,despite what was said about him,mostly untrue,He was a True American Patriot,Rightous and true,in the path of our founders! 1) Right ingratiates itself to the left and then the left always wins to destroy the right.
2) Most people support conservative ideas.
3) This has been the formula to win elections for all Israeli Prime Ministers and accounts for all the right wing failures while in office.
Why do they fail? No matter what platform they espouse during election and no matter how conservative they sound, they always turn to the leftist ideas. Is there any wonder? Since the USA has interred Israeli politics and control it, the PMs of both left and right have always supported the leftist ideas.
If we were to look at this in a Torah perspective and substitute the words “truth” for the word “right”, “false” for the word “left” and “compromise” for the word “conservative”, then we could say that according to Prophesy of our times, when we compromise truth, then false will be called truth and truth will be called false and then Israel will even negotiate with death so as to live in peace. The “disengagement” was against the Truth (Torah). Destroying Jewish communities on the Holy Land is against the Truth. Giving away the Holy Land that HaShem gave us is against the Truth. And to do all of this by recognizing a people that don’t exist as a nation and negotiate peace with them while they claim openly that they want all Jews dead is against the Truth.

Why was Mr Breitbart's passing not mentioned by Israel National News? And what's up with the "gap" between Caroline Glick and Arutz7? Seems that you are both medicine for the Zionist soul...
