Pat Condell on Jew hatred

Despite the fact that he's an atheist, I really like Pat Condell much of the time.

Here's his new zinger.

God bless him! (I mean it, so sue me Pat, heh...).

What he says about the historic role of the Catholic Church in propagating anti-Semitism is true. I would just add that as far as I'm concerned, today the Catholic Church seems to be the least of our worries. In fact, from time to time, the pope acts like a friend and I appreciate him for that.

Caroline,Thanks for Pat's video.
The devil really knows his time is short and this is why he's fanning the flames of hate higher and higher.
The war has really heated up and thank God for Pat who is more awake than dead Christians and brainwashed leftist Jews.
I see it here in the U.S. with the aryan and skinheads uniting with the muslims and the left spreading lies against Israel,Jews and those who stand with them.
They tray and make Zionist a bad word and give evil Islam a pass.
Many have infiltrated Christian circles to spread their evil and toxic venom.
Here is one example.
'Chief' and his clan spread their evil venom in twisted, subtle ways to turn upside down weak, bible ignorant Christians against Israel

Caroline, How embarrassing that a Christian has to teach us about Jew hatred. This should be forced viewing for every Leftist Jew, but in all likelihood it probably would make no difference. These people are so filled with self hatred that they are blind and deaf to the truth. G-d bless and thank you for posting this.

Well, maybe Pat Condell has read some history books since 2007, when he felt the need to tell "the Jews": "Give [Jerusalem] back and help put a stop to this madness [...] You know it makes sense." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Vaw658Bow8&feature=related). At least then, he still seemed to be quite religious, in the sense of being a true believer of the strongest everyday religion, the religion of anti-Zionism. Might as well have been Obama talking. I like him too, but that video still makes me sick.

I agree he got side tracked focusing on the Catholic Church and needed to stay focused on the imminent threats before us. That said, it was a great video!

Glenn Beck has a pretty good monologue today that compliments this video.

Pat Condell makes so much sense BECAUSE he is an atheist. Your "despite" is an unfortuate weakness in your thought processes. Nevertheless, I agree with you most of the time despite that fact that you are a superstitious believer in nonsense.

Unlike Ralph I was totally unsurprised by this man's 2007 video in which he showed that if there is one people he scorns more than the Muslims it is us. In the words of the song "Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner" I knew his type on sight because I grew up with them. My enemy's enemy in this case is NOT my freind. Even though he is all very amusing and seems to make sense some of the time, I can't bring myself to watch him again whatever he is up to this time.

As a Roman Catholic who went to catholic schools and grew up on the south side of chicago; I was never taught to hate, dislike, or view Jewish people negatively. If anything the opposite was taught. In grade school for 3 days all we did was watch movies on the holocaust, very vivid horrible images of the concentration camps. It was to teach us to stand against such evil and hatred.

Never in any aspect of my community including family, school, neighborhood friends did I ever hear any negative talk or feelings regarding Jews. It wasn't until I moved away from this catholic enclave did I run into prejudice, and slurs against Jews. Funny, I never knew what these things people were whispering meant so I had to ask and was still confused. I can also say these people were not catholic. They were the public school secular type.

The Roman Catholic Church has perpetually stood against anti-semitism in all its forms throughout the ages. While there were individual aberrations the Institution has never condoned hatred or violence against the Jewish People.

Witness the millions of Roman Catholic Poles executed alongside their Jewish neighbors in Auschwitz... Witness the 700,000 Jews saved by the personal and direct intervention of Pope Pius XII...

Nonsense Remember the Pope sending back to Germany Hundeds of children to the gas chambers rather than offending hitler ?

I don't know who the guy in the video is, never heard of him or seen him before now. I don't like him because he's a bigot who simply "likes" Israel because he hates Muslims.

He reminds me of the American bigots who "like" the Palestinians simply because they hate Jews. I don't know why you have this guy's video at your site. Unfortunately, he doesn't say a thing we Jews haven't heard. If your purpose was to prove we have non-Jewish friends in our world, then that's even sadder.

This world desperately needs more Pats. That is, people who say it like it is so bluntly, so eloquently, they serve as a beacon to those who wish to stand against evil.

Anonymous above,
I agree with every word that Pat said.
Being a non practising Christian I have no reason to either like or dislike the Jewish people any more than (say) the Inuit.
One reason for this is that neither the Jewish nor Inuit people demand that I submit to their religion on pain of death.

Does this make me a bigot for disliking islam?

Sorry some Roman Catholics took his comments about their Church to heart, BUT golly I DO remember the Irish born Nun who was an instuctor to my child in 4th grade, calling Jews: "Christ killers". That was a mere 25 years ago at my children's school.

I had to tell that same Nun that my step-dad was a holocaust survivor and that I would be informing the parish priest of the comment to my child and the class.

The priest DID make a public statement to ALL the nuns, the student body and the parents, that such comments were NOT welcome nor were they going to be tolerated. And further, Jesus was a JEW and that the first Christians were also Jews. He gave quite a talk and even expressed gratitude that Israel existed!!

So, I must say I was pleased with his reaction and even more please when Sister Agnes was no longer an instructor at the school.... shortly after that event!

So, I guess just like every group and every organization, you WILL HAVE different opinions and different actions.

I am just glad that RIGHT won the day, this time!!

Caroline, it's great that you " really like Pat Condell much of the time". That's the point, isn't it: his arguments are clear, strong & compelling, he presents them with great skill, and whether you like or dislike anything else about him or his life is irrelevant – his work stands (or falls) on it's own merits.

I like Pat, too, and for the same reasons I like you: you both stand firm and fearless, grounded in thorough scholarship and clear thinking, speaking with deep feeling and commitment.
